Your cover letter is the first thing that your potential employer sees, so write it carefully, pay attention to detail & take the opportunity to sell yourself.

Every job ad lists the duties that must be performed & the skills that are needed. Use this list as your guide for the things you need to highlight about yourself in your letter. This will show that you are the perfect match for the job.

Be sure to:

*Include your name & address at the top of the page

*Use the same paper type as your resume

*Be enthusiastic/positive

*Address it to a specific person

*Keep it brief (maximum 1 page)

*Highlight your skills & show how they match with the job

*Show some knowledge of the position & the company (research the company)
